171 adult- and aged-onset diabetic patients treated with insulin primarily or secondarily were subjected to an attempted therapy with the additional administration of oral antidiabetic drugs. The new potent antidiabetic drug, glybenclamide (HB 419 = Daonil), was employed on a vast scale in order to carry out an oral monotherapy in the proper indications also combined with biguanides. In the 52 % of patients in study with the additional oral therapy the insulin dose could be remarkably decreased, in the 24 % of cases insulin could be at all abolished. In a dairy jennet farm the meat, which can be produced using the foals in excess, could be another profitable income. Equine meat is very thin and with high protein content; above all, the fatty acids are unsaturated, being a monogastric animal product. The donkey meat processed products are sold in niche market and are very appreciated by the European consumers. A study on the characteristics of the donkey salami made in Sicily was carried out using a 12 months old foal derived from Ragusano breed. Adsorptionseffekte als Fehlerquellen bei Lichtzerstreuungsmessungen

Es werden die Einflusse der Adsorption von Hochpolymeren aus den Losungen auf Lichtzerstreuungsmessungen untersucht. Zunachst wird die Adsorption aus Losung an Glaswolle und Glaspulver in verschiedenen Losungsmitteln gemessen. Es zeigt sich, das sowohl Konzentrationserniedrigung, bestimmt im Differentialrefraktometer, wie auch eine Abnahme des Molekulargewichtes, aus der Lichtzerstreuung bestimmt, infolge selektiver Adsorption auftreten. Beim Schutteln der Losungen tritt als weiterer Effekt ein Abbau der Kettenmolekule ein. Beim Filtrieren von Losungen nehmen durch Adsorption im Filter Konzentration und Molekulargewicht ab.
